Laravel is the premier full-stack PHP framework providing everything developers need to ship modern applications. Laravel Cloud launched in February 2025 offering an infrastructure and deployment platform for Laravel applications with built-in capabilities specific for Laravel developers not available on other platforms like zero-downtime deployments, autoscaling and hibernation, and more. Developers can easily integrate object storage, databases, and key-value storage with Laravel Cloud. Laravel Cloud is a fully managed infrastructure platform relentlessly optimized for Laravel and PHP.

How they use Cloudflare
Laravel was looking to offer a streamlined experience for developers to bring their application to Laravel Cloud without having to worry about DDoS attacks, caching, and routing. Cloudflare was a natural fit to enable customers to bring their custom domain and automatically get performance and security services.

The team turned to Cloudflare Tunnels to help solve networking problems within their AWS layer and ensuring the request ends up at the correct Kubernetes pod in the right region. A whole layer of infrastructure and load balancers was eliminated, significantly simplifying their network architecture and cost model.

The Laravel framework provides the ability to interact with storage disks which are either on a local file system or on an S3 compatible object storage. R2 was selected to provide the storage for Laravel Object Storage. Developers can create a bucket directly in Laravel Cloud without having to create and integrate a separate account and objects are streamed directly from the front end without even touching the back end for a more streamlined experience. R2 ticked all the boxes from a performance perspective and its zero egress fees made it a natural choice to provide the object storage resource for Laravel Cloud.

Down the road Laravel Cloud will be implementing Argo Smart Routing, WAF, and more granular cache control settings to make it easier for customers to fine-tune their needs.
